Your current Mahadasha and Antardasha: The Vimshottari Dasha system divides your life into a sequence of planetary periods. Which planet is currently running as your major period (Mahadasha) and sub-period (Antardasha) determines which planet's transits carry the most weight in your daily score right now.
Your birth nakshatra: The lunar mansion occupied by the Moon at your birth. This determines your dasha start point and carries personal characteristics that filter how the daily Moon nakshatra affects you.
The Six Signal Calculations
With the birth chart as the foundation, Fliyp runs six daily calculations — one for each signal dimension.
1. Career Signal
The career calculation centres on:
- The 10th house of your birth chart (the career house) and the sign that falls on it
- The lord of your 10th house — which planet rules it and where it is currently transiting
- Today's transit through your 10th house or 10th house lord's sign
- Saturn and Sun positions (natural karaka planets for career in Vedic astrology)
- Your current dasha planet's relationship to career indicators
A day when multiple career indicators align — the 10th lord is in a strong transit position, the dasha planet aspects your career house, and the Moon is in a nakshatra associated with professional initiative — scores high on the career dimension.
2. Decision Signal
Decision quality is governed by Mercury (intellect, analysis) and the Moon (mind and perception). The calculation weighs:
- Mercury's transit position relative to your natal Mercury and ascendant
- Whether Mercury is retrograde, combust (too close to the Sun), or in an enemy sign
- Today's Moon nakshatra — different nakshatras are associated with different qualities of mind (sharp, scattered, intuitive, deliberate)
- The Moon's phase (waxing/waning affects mental clarity in Vedic astrology)
The decision signal is particularly important before signing contracts, making investments, or having difficult conversations. When this signal is low, information is likely incomplete or your judgment is operating under a blind spot.
3. Relationship Signal
Relationship quality is governed by the 7th house and Venus. The calculation uses:
- Venus's transit position relative to your 7th house and natal Venus
- The 7th house lord's current transit and strength
- Moon's emotional quality today (emotional signal feeds into relationship quality)
- Whether Mars is aspecting your 7th house (creates friction) or Jupiter (creates warmth)
A high relationship signal does not mean you will fall in love today. It means the conditions for genuine connection — openness, receptivity, communication — are above average. High-signal days are when important relationship conversations land better.
4. Emotional Signal
The Moon is the primary indicator. It moves approximately 13 degrees per day — through roughly one nakshatra per day. Each nakshatra has a distinct emotional quality:
- Ashwini: quick, impatient, energised
- Rohini: sensual, creative, attached
- Ardra: turbulent, intense, emotionally raw
- Pushya: nourishing, stable, calm
- Ashlesha: complex, suspicious, inward
The Moon's sign position (which house it transits in your chart), the nakshatra it occupies, and any planet it conjoins or aspects — combined, these determine your emotional signal. This is the most rapidly-changing signal in the system because the Moon moves fastest.
5. Energy Signal
Physical vitality and drive are governed by Mars and the Sun. The energy signal uses:
- Mars's current sign and house position in your chart
- The Sun's transit position (the Sun governs vitality at a fundamental level)
- Whether Mars is in a strong sign (own sign Aries/Scorpio, exalted in Capricorn) or weak (debilitated in Cancer)
- Aspects from Saturn to Mars (Saturn slows energy) or Jupiter (Jupiter steadies it)
Energy signal days are not about reckless action — they are about knowing whether the engine is running hot or cool today. High energy signal days support demanding physical effort, bold confrontations, and high-stakes negotiations. Low energy signal days suggest precision over force.
6. Spiritual Signal
The least intuitive signal for most users — and often the most surprising in its accuracy.
The spiritual signal measures:
- Jupiter's transit through your 9th house (dharma, fortune, higher wisdom) or 5th house (intelligence, grace)
- The current Moon nakshatra's spiritual quality (some nakshatras are associated with sacred timing)
- Ketu's influence (the south node, associated with spiritual liberation and intuition)
- Your dasha planet's natural inclination toward or away from spiritual sensitivity
A high spiritual signal day is not just for meditation. It is when insight comes easily, when the "right call" reveals itself without forcing, when creative and intuitive work flows. The Weighting and Final Score
The six signal scores are weighted and combined. The weights are not equal — they are influenced by your current dasha period. This means the Fliyp Score is not a fixed formula. It adapts to where you are in your life's arc, not just today's planetary positions.
The final number — 0 to 100 — represents the integrated quality of your day across all six dimensions, personalised to your specific chart and your specific life period.
