What Are Cosmic Signals?
Cosmic Signals is Fliyp's domain-specific intelligence layer — a system of daily planetary calculations that translate the abstract positions of nine planets into concrete, actionable guidance across specific life domains. Where your birth chart tells you who you are, and your Life Timeline tells you what life phase you are in, Cosmic Signals tell you what the planetary field is doing to your chart today — and specifically what that means for your finances, your daily routines, your mental sharpness, your planetary environment, and your recurring life cycles.
Cosmic Signals are distinguished from Fliyp's core daily signals (Career, Decision, Energy, Emotional, Relationship, Spiritual) by their domain focus: they target specific, concrete life dimensions rather than broad psychological or professional categories. Each Cosmic Signal is a dedicated intelligence engine — calculating the specific planets, houses, and dignities most relevant to its domain, scoring that calculation daily, and converting the score into practical guidance.
The Cosmic Signals Suite
Fliyp currently offers five Cosmic Signals, each targeting a distinct life domain:
Wealth Transit
Tracks the 2nd house (accumulated wealth), 8th house (inherited and transformed wealth), and 11th house (income and gains) — along with the planets most relevant to financial conditions (Jupiter as the planet of abundance, Venus as the planet of value, Saturn as the planet of financial karma). Wealth Transit scores daily financial field conditions and identifies sustained wealth expansion windows vs. periods requiring financial caution and consolidation.
Lifestyle Index
Tracks the 6th house (daily health and routine), Venus (pleasure and quality of daily life), and the Moon (daily emotional satisfaction) to produce a daily assessment of lifestyle quality — how well the planetary field supports your physical health practices, daily routines, and the overall quality of your day-to-day experience.
Clarity Index
Tracks Mercury (planet of intelligence and commerce) specifically — its sign position, dignity, retrograde status, combustion, and house position in your chart — to produce a daily score of mental sharpness and commercial clarity. Named for Budha (Sanskrit for Mercury), the Clarity Index is specifically designed for knowledge workers, business people, writers, and anyone whose livelihood depends on sharp thinking and clear communication.
Planetary Pulse
Tracks all nine planets simultaneously — their collective dignity, retrograde status, combustion, and house positions in your chart — to produce a combined field quality score. Where individual signals focus on specific planets, Planetary Pulse shows the overall planetary environment as a single integrated score. It is the most comprehensive daily metric Fliyp produces.
Patterns
Identifies recurring planetary cycles in your chart — dasha period signatures, return cycles (Jupiter returns, Saturn returns, nodal returns), and transit trigger patterns — and shows upcoming activations with historical evidence of what each pattern produces. Patterns converts the abstract complexity of cyclical astrological timing into a named, dated, and historically validated map of your recurring life cycles.
How Cosmic Signals Are Calculated
Every Cosmic Signal follows the same calculation architecture:
Step 1 — Identify the Relevant Planets and Houses
Each signal begins by identifying which planets and which natal houses are most directly relevant to its domain. Wealth Transit focuses on Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, and the 2nd/8th/11th houses. The Clarity Index focuses on Mercury and whichever house Mercury currently occupies in your chart. Planetary Pulse focuses on all nine planets equally.
Step 2 — Assess Current Dignity
For each relevant planet, the calculation assesses today's dignity level: exaltation, own sign, neutral, enemy sign, or debilitation. Dignity determines the quality of the planet's function — how reliably and powerfully it is operating today. A debilitated Jupiter reduces Wealth Transit quality significantly; an exalted Jupiter elevates it substantially.
Step 3 — Apply Retrograde and Combustion Modifiers
Retrograde status and combustion modify a planet's dignity assessment. A planet in its own sign but retrograde functions differently than the same planet in its own sign in direct motion. A combust planet has its independent function suppressed by solar proximity. These modifiers are applied after the base dignity calculation.
Step 4 — Map to Your Personal Chart
The planet's current sign position is mapped to a specific house in your birth chart — determined by your ascendant. The same Mercury in Virgo sits in different houses for each of the 12 ascendants, producing different implications for each person. This house mapping is the personalisation layer that distinguishes Fliyp's Cosmic Signals from generic daily horoscopes.
Step 5 — Integrate Dasha Context
The current Mahadasha and Antardasha planets are checked against each signal's relevant planets. When a signal's key planet is also the current dasha lord, the signal's implications are amplified. When they conflict (the dasha lord is an enemy of the signal's key planet), the signal may be dampened despite otherwise good transit conditions.
Step 6 — Score and Interpret
The weighted combination of all factors produces a 0–100 score for the day. The score is mapped to an interpretation tier — exceptional, strong, moderate, cautionary, or difficult — with practical guidance specific to that signal's domain.
What Makes Cosmic Signals Different from Generic Astrology Content
Generic daily horoscopes are content — written by humans for sun sign categories, designed to resonate broadly with a large audience. They describe possible themes rather than calculate specific conditions.
Cosmic Signals are calculations — mathematical assessments of real planetary positions against your specific birth chart. They are not written for your sun sign; they are computed for your chart. Two people with the same sun sign will see different Cosmic Signal scores on the same day because their ascendants, dasha periods, and natal planet positions differ.
The practical difference is interpretive precision. A generic horoscope might say "financial matters deserve attention today." A Wealth Transit score of 34 with a note that Jupiter is debilitated in Capricorn and currently in your 8th house (not the wealth houses) tells you specifically that wealth expansion conditions are poor today, the 8th house activation suggests financial transformation rather than accumulation is the theme, and Jupiter's debilitation means over-optimistic financial judgments are a specific risk.
This specificity is what converts astrological data from interesting background colour into something you can actually use to make better decisions.
How to Use Cosmic Signals in Practice
Check Wealth Transit before financial decisions. Before signing a contract, making an investment, or launching a revenue initiative, Wealth Transit shows whether the planetary field is currently supporting financial expansion or requiring consolidation. Not a veto — but a calibration signal.
Check the Clarity Index before demanding intellectual work. Before writing a complex proposal, entering a negotiation, or making an analytical decision with significant stakes, the Clarity Index shows whether Mercury's current function supports peak mental clarity or warrants extra verification of your conclusions.
Use Planetary Pulse to understand the overall field. When multiple things feel off simultaneously — energy is low, decisions feel unclear, relationships are strained — Planetary Pulse shows whether there is a compound planetary cause. This converts vague "bad week" experience into a specific, timed field condition.
Use Patterns for medium and long-range planning. For decisions with 3–24 month implications, Patterns shows which upcoming cycle activations support the initiative type and which create headwinds. This is the most strategic Cosmic Signal for planning horizons beyond the immediate week.
Use Lifestyle Index for daily health and routine decisions. The Lifestyle Index shows when the planetary field most supports physical health practices, dietary discipline, and daily routine quality — and when it is more appropriate to rest and recover than to push.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to check all Cosmic Signals every day? No — Fliyp's dashboard surfaces the most relevant Cosmic Signal for your current situation. You can check the full suite when making a significant domain-specific decision, or simply let the daily summary surface what is most relevant on any given day.
Q: Are Cosmic Signals the same as the core daily signals (Career, Decision, Energy)? The core signals and Cosmic Signals share the same calculation architecture but target different domains. Core signals cover broad psychological and professional dimensions (career, decision quality, emotional state, energy, relationships, spiritual). Cosmic Signals cover specific life domain conditions (finances, routines, mental sharpness, overall planetary field, recurring cycles). Together they provide complete daily coverage.
Q: How often do Cosmic Signal scores change dramatically? Planetary Pulse can shift significantly day-to-day with the Moon's movement. Wealth Transit and the Clarity Index shift more slowly — primarily when slower planets change signs or when Mercury goes retrograde. Patterns activations occur on a monthly-to-yearly basis. Each signal has its own natural rhythm of change.
Q: Can Cosmic Signals conflict with each other? Yes — and this is informative. A high Clarity Index with a low Wealth Transit on the same day means mental clarity is strong but financial field conditions are poor — a good day for intellectual work but a poor day for financial commitments. Understanding which signals are elevated vs. suppressed simultaneously helps prioritise which type of work each day supports most.
